Nicola Smith has been awarded an artist residency at Val David, Quebec, for May 2014. The residency coincides with the biannual International Festivals held at the Residence.
Throughout 2014, Nana Ohnesorge will undertake a series of workshops with the community in Griffiith, NSW, as part of a Community Portraiture Project. This project, supported by Griffith Regional Gallery, Griffith Connections and members of the Indigenous community, will see Nana produce large collaborative and individual portraits, which will be exhibited at Griffith Regional Gallery in October 2014.
Samuel Quinteros is one of six artists invited to exhibit in Platforms Australia, curated by by Aaron Seeto for Art Stage Singapore. Platforms is a new format for the fair, comprising eight country and regional platforms highlighting exceptional emerging talent. 15 - 19 January 2014.
Heath Franco’s video work WUNDER CLOSET travels to Santiago, Chile, as part of the exhibition Video Arte Australia y Nueva Zelanda. Curated by Mark Feary, this project was first presented for Video Contemporary at Sydney Contemporary, Carriageworks, this year. 6 December 2013 - 26 January 2014, Centro Cultural Matucana 100 (M100).
Heath Franco was commissioned by Artbank Australia to produce a new video work for the series ‘Performutations’, curated by Daniel Mudie-Cunningham. ZIXKATZ is available for rental through Artbank and an editioned print is available at the gallery.

Congratulations to Vicky Browne, winner of the 2013 Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Artists' Travel Scholarship. The prize is awarded to a recent SCA graduate to further his/her visual arts practice and professional development in an international environment. Vicky will receive $28,000 over the next two years; she plans to use these funds to travel to and work at George Van Tassel’s Integratron in the Mojave Desert. This research will form the basis for a new body of videos, sound recordings and sculptural work which will be exhibited in Sydney and Los Angeles in 2015.

Rochelle Haley was interviewed for the current issue of Artist Profile. In April and May, Rochelle will undertake a residency at the Cité Internationale Universitaire in Paris to develop her painting and drawing research projects. She will also participate in a series of seminars and workshops on Speculative Realism with emerging philosopher Tristan Garcia at the Performing Arts Forum, St Erme, France. This experience will inform her work towards a group show at Alaska Projects in July, curated by arts writer Prue Gibson.
Sarah Mosca and Kim Fasher (as the collaborative practice SuperKaleidoscope) are guest editors of Das Superpaper Issue 26. Sarah and Kim were also profiled on the back cover of the current NAVA Quarterly on Women in Art.

Emma Thomson is in The Social at Campbeltown Arts Centre, an exhibition that explores ideas in popular culture. Emma's work is a new series of photographic portraits of contestants in Campbeltown's 'Little Miss Princess' beauty pageant. Until 10 March. Emma is artist-in residence at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Dubbo where she will be creating a new body of work involving female pig hunters.
