Samuel Quinteros is one of two SCA alumni selected by Brad Buckley to exhibit in the annual exhibition, FINE ART / UNIVERSITY SELECTION 2015-2016, at the Tsukuba Museum of Art, Ibaraki, Japan. This exhibition is part of the Young Artist Exchange and Development project, sponsored by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Faculty of Art and Design, University of Tsukuba. Congratulations to Heath Franco, winner of the 2015 NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) for his multichannel video installation THE RAINBOW LANDS. The $30,000 fellowship will allow Heath to undertake a mentorship with music video creator Joel Kefali; research, create and perform new works in the United States; and deliver workshops at the Information Cultural Exchange in Parramatta. Heath’s video works YOUR DOOR (2011) and HOME TOWN (2014) will be screened during the Sydney Film Festival at The Festival Hub at Sydney Town Hall, as well as a collaborative work with David Capra, Dream Sequence (2015).
Heath will also perform in Winter Wonderland, a contemporary art event on 6 June at O’Neill’s Adventureland. Curated by Megan Monte and Zanny Begg this will be a one night only experience that probes the inventive, psychedelic and unique world of the fun park.

Congratulations to Hayley Megan French and Samuel Quinteros who are both recipients of a 2015 Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship. Each scholarship is worth $20,000, to support the activities to further artistic careers. Hayley will undertake a research trip to Warmun Art Centre and the East Kimberley Region in Western Australia. Samuel will initially base himself in Belgium, followed by a three month artist residency at 3331 Arts Chiyoda in Tokyo.
Kylie Banyard is featured in the current issue Artist Profile magazine. The gallery will be presenting a new series of Kylie’s works at this year’s Sydney Contemporary at Carriageworks in September.
Vivian Cooper Smith’s photographic series And yet, but for these flowers is currently on view at the Yarra City Public Art Light Boxes at the Carlton Library. The images of flowers that make up this series were photographed in the gardens and public spaces surrounding the library.
