Heaven or Las Vegas
Heaven or Las Vegas, the title of the Cocteau Twins’ song, suggests we wish for a wide range of possible pleasures from our time on Earth. This group show of new landscape features the ‘broken perspectives’ of Vivian Cooper Smith’s photography and the monumental realism of Craig Bender’s bush landscapes. Vicky Browne reclassifies modernity with her handy stick sculptures of technology. Todd Robinson’s balloon sculptures fight the paradox of excessive gravity, as do Michael Moran’s dysmorphic figures, and Charles Dennington’s inventive model-making brings a new pop sensibility to his strange and tiny worlds.
