In HOME TOWN TWO, Heath Franco returns to his childhood home of Berridale, NSW to take care of unfinished business.
Where the premiere of HOME TOWN at Galerie pompom in 2014 saw Franco’s work presented with cinematic sensibilities in both content and installation, its upcoming sequel, HOME TOWN TWO will see an acknowledgement of the ‘home video device’, that is: VHS>DVD>Blu-Ray(kind-of)>File-based delivery.
With previously unused content, HOME TOWN TWO harks back to two times past to reveal a greater breadth and depth to the work’s initial iteration.
This project was assisted by a grant from Arts NSW, an agency of the New South Wales Government and supported by the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, an initiative of the Australian State and Territory Governments. The program is administered by the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA).
