THIS IS TOMORROW

THIS IS TOMORROW is a seven-minute Virtual Reality (VR) work that blends live-action 360-degree photography and computer-generated animation. The work delivers a site-specific response to its installation at Galerie pompom with the promise of Outer Space travel. THIS IS TOMORROW remediates the interstellar ambitions of the 20th century within the confines of a contemporary VR ‘experience’. It calls upon the Pop Art space-collages of Richard Hamilton and the extraterrestrial sonnets of Frank Sinatra. THIS IS TOMORROW takes its name from the ‘Group 2’ installation at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1956, as a retroactive testament to the future.
